There Is No Big Oil Conspiracy to Suppress Truth About Climate Change

Oil refinery
Andrew Vaughan/AP

There is no Big Oil conspiracy to suppress the truth about “climate change,” a federal judge in California has ruled.

According to Michael Bastasch at Daily Caller:

San Francisco and Oakland filed suit against five major companies, including Exxon and Chevron, demanding money for damages global warming allegedly caused. A core component of their suit is fossil fuel companies “engaged in a large-scale, sophisticated advertising and public relations campaign” to promote fossil fuels while they “knew” their products would contribute to “dangerous global warming.”

The cities’ suits against oil companies, however, do not show an industry conspiracy to suppress climate science from the public, U.S. District Judge William Alsup said, according to journalists who attended the hearing.

Alsup said plaintiffs “shows nothing of the sort” regarding some sort of conspiracy against science, Conservative journalist Phelim McAleer tweeted.

This ruling, so early in the trial, may well have come as a shock to the plaintiffs. Judge Alsup, after all, was a Bill Clinton appointment, operating in the most eco-friendly state, California. He might therefore have been open to persuasion by the green narrative.

The case owes its origins to a little-publicized gathering of leading climate alarmists in La Jolla, California in 2012.

Austria Gets the Extremist President It Didn’t Deserve

We were continually assured by the left-liberal media how awful it would be if the (supposed) “far-right” candidate Norbert Hofer won.

But actually the victory of Green candidate Alexander Van der Bellen – on, likely, a rigged ballot – is far, far worse.

It’s bad for democracy: Hofer lost by just 31,000 of the 4.64 million votes cast. Suspicions are bound to fall on the 700,000 votes cast in the postal ballot, which appears to be what swung it for Van der Bellen. But postal votes as we know – especially from the experience of Muslim-dominated constituencies in the UK – are prone to rampant fraud. Austrians who voted for Hofer are talking about “betrug” – fraud – and this may well be more than sour grapes. In some areas there was a remarkable 146.9 percent voter turnout. This stinks of a stitch up by the bien-pensant elite in unholy alliance with the immigrant bloc vote. As with the EU, so it is increasingly in national elections: the social democratic ruling class refuses to listen to the people.

It’s bad for social cohesion. Figures from Der Standard newspaper, show that university-educated voters split 81-19 for Van der Bellen, while lower-skilled workers split 86-14 for Hofer. What does this tell us? That the native working class in Austria – as in the US and across much of Europe – are angry about immigration and feel unrepresented by the liberal political elite. That academe is now such a hot bed of left-wing indoctrination and political correctness that the “educated” would rather keep drinking the Kool-Aid than think for themselves. This cannot end happily. Indeed, it was under similar circumstances in the 1930s that another Austrian-born citizen, considerably more “far-right” than Norbert Hofer, began his rise to power.

The Greens Are Losing the Culture Wars. Good.

All right, so Michael Crichton got there first with State of Fear (2005) but that movie would certainly never have slipped under the net if it hadn’t had the creator of Jurassic Park‘s name attached. It’s only in the last couple of years that screenwriters have started to recognise what a good idea it is to choose environmentalists as your bad guys: pure evil draped in cuddly, fluffy sanctimoniousness is drama gold.

See, for example, Kingsman (2014) which cast Samuel L Jackson as an insane Malthusian bent on wiping out most of the human race for the good of the planet; and also Utopia (2013), the genius, black as your hat thriller (insanely nixed after its second series by Channel 4) about a similar “the Earth has a cancer; the cancer is man” type conspiracy.

Now there’s a Nordic Noir TV series I strongly recommend you watch – just out on DVD – called Follow the Money. The Guardian hated it – which is a recommendation in itself. But what’s even better is the reason why I suspect the Guardian hated it: it couldn’t quite get its head around the fact that the bad guys aren’t in Big Oil or the Military Industrial Complex or some faceless corporation. Instead, the baddies work for a renewable energy company with the caring, sharing name Energreen.

No, Greenpeace: The EU Has Done Nothing for Britain’s Health, Safety or Wildlife

If Britain leaves the European Union all its protected wildlife – newts and bats especially – will be mercilessly slaughtered, surfers and swimmers will drown in raw sewage and the air will become so toxic that birds will drop dead out of the sky.

Well, so all the environmental charities are warning, in line with the Dear Leader’s #ProjectFear.

Britain’s biggest environmental charities have been accused of using public donations to campaign for staying in the European Union.

The charities watchdog will on Monday issue new guidance on political neutrality after Friends of the Earth, The Wildlife Trusts and Greenpeace all made public comments backing EU membership.

The charities have all insisted that Britain being a member of the EU is vital to protecting Britain’s wildlife – with one suggesting that those backing Brexit want to make the country “the dirty man of Europe”.

Gosh, I wonder what possible reason they could have for breaching the terms of their charitable status and politicking so nakedly for a cause which has little to do with their remit.

Here’s a clue from a report produced by the Institute of Economic Affairs called Euro Puppets: the European Commission’s Remaking of Civil Society.

It lists how much Europe’s leading wildlife charities receive from the European Union – and what proportion this represents of their total funding.

How Obama’s Green Crony Capitalism Is Reducing the US to a Banana Republic

“They are going to try to dirty him up,” said Court, a Steyer ally. “He is personally committed on a moral level to preventing a 4-degree temperature change that is irreversible, and he has $3 billion to pursue his passion.”

I have a couple of problems with this imaginative thesis, presumably advanced with Steyer’s blessing in order to distract from unhelpful stories like this one about  his latest egregious eco-fail in California.

1. How would it be possible, even with the combined resources of Chevron, Exxon, BP, Shell, Petrobras and whoever else, to cause more reputational damage to Tom Steyer than he has already achieved through his own magisterial efforts?

Sure he must have been clever or cunning sometime to have made at all that money for himself. But his more recent career, ever since deciding his new job was to save the world from ManBearPig, has been a succession of humiliating failures.

His NextGen SuperPac was a massive flop.

In Florida, it dispatched more than 500 staffers and volunteers to criticize Governor Rick Scott’s energy policies and used a “Noah’s ark” to show the threat of rising ocean levels. Scott still won re-election.

So was his Proposition 39 in California which, at yet further cost to the taxpayer, was supposed to have created 11,000 new “green jobs” a year. In fact the true figure has been closer to 600 green jobs a year, each costing $175,000 – and quite likely killing many more real jobs than the fake ones it created.

Shock US Senate Report: Left Wing ‘Billionaire’s Club’ Using Green Groups to Subvert Democracy, Control the Economy

July 30, 2014

“There aren’t a lot of functioning democracies around the world that work this way where you can basically have millionaires and billionaires bankrolling whoever they want, however they want, in some cases undisclosed. What it means is ordinary Americans are shut out of the process.” Barack Obama, White House press conference, Oct 2013.

Yes, indeed. But the millionaires and billionaires doing the damage are Obama’s allies on the liberal-left, not his enemies on the right. So says a devastating report published today by the US Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works.
The report details how an elite group of rich liberal donors such as Tom Steyer and Hank Paulson – “the Billionaire’s Club” – is directing and controlling the far-left environmental movement, “which in turn lobbies and controls major policy decisions and lobbies on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).”

Richard Madeley Reveals That the Green Blight Has Finally Sunk Cornwall

Pernicious EU greenism

Richard Madeley: a celebrity, yes, but actually right about this

Richard Madeley: a celebrity, yes, but actually right about this

From the moment it became such an enthusiastic early adopter of the wind-farm blight, I knew that there was no hope left for Cornwall. And now Richard Madeley has confirmed it: whatever attraction the county may once have had in the days of Rebecca or Demelza Poldark has now long since been buried in a morass of green worthiness.

Madeley’s particular beef is with all the different-coloured bin bags into which the local district council now demands he wastes precious time each day sifting his rubbish:

The television presenter is one of 250,000 households forced to laboriously separate paper into blue bags, cardboard into orange sacks, glass into a black plastic box, plastics and tin into a red bag and garden waste into a brown wheelie bin – not forgetting the black bag for ‘non-recyclable’ waste.

It depresses me to note that many of the commenters below the Telegraph’s news piece on this appear to be so blinkered by their visceral loathing of Madeley/people with second homes/celebrities generally that they’re not prepared to concede him his point: these recycling schemes are a spectacular waste of time and money.

They exist, of course, primarily because of the EU’s directives on landfill, enthusiastically endorsed and gold plated as per usual by the British government, under which councils are financially penalised for the amount of rubbish they put in tips rather than recycle. In fact Britain has more than enough space for landfill and the environmental problems with this have been greatly overdone. The real reason for the directive is because of pressure put on the EU from places like the Netherlands, which don’t have nearly so much space for burying rubbish underground and which therefore felt compelled to level the playing field (ie nobble the competition) by making life equally hard for all EU members.

Aside from the pernicious, democratically unaccountable EU role in all this, there’s the issue of personal freedom. Here we have a situation in which householders are compelled to waste valuable time sorting out their rubbish (and uglifying their neighbourhood) for no serious reason whatsoever. (And furthermore being charged by their council for the privilege.)

The Krait Crew: How Aussies looked before the eco loons took over

A week into my Australian tour and I already I love the country and its people so much I could happily stay here forever. (Articles like this and this and this may partly explain why.) There’s just one small problem – well, one bloody big problem actually: the rampaging political correctness. How, in God’s name, did the robust, no-nonsense pioneer spirit of the original settlers who carved an earthly paradise out of burning hell allow itself to be watered down, warped and wimpified by a minority of tofu-knitting greens and tight-sphinctered lefties?

Let me give you one example. (Plenty more will follow, let me assure you, for Oz is the land of Political Correctness and Eco Fascism gone mad. Traditional Owners, anyone???) I’ve just returned from the remote Western Australian fishing port of Exmouth, point of embarkation for one of the most daring missions of the Second World War: Operation Jaywick.

A mixed British and Australian team of Z Special Unit commandos (their skin dyed the kind of Asiatic yellowy-brown which would probably have had the operation cancelled before the start, nowadays, because of its evidently racist undertones) set out in a small, captured Japanese fishing boat – named MV Krait – for what should have been a suicide mission to attack the Japanese in Singapore harbour. They anchored the boat off shore, paddled the last 31 mile leg in kayaks, and used limpet mines to destroy 39,000 tonnes of shipping. The Japanese were so completely unprepared that they didn’t know what had hit them. Amazingly the commandos all made it back safely. (Only to perish on a subsequent mission). (H/T Barry Corke)

And what has become of Exmouth nearly 70 years on? It’s a remote and exotic tourist destination well worth a visit as possibly the best place anywhere in the world to go snorkelling with whale sharks, magnificent leviathans up to 60 feet long. That’s the good news. The bad is that the whole region is in thrall to the agents of DEC (Western Australia’s Department of Environment and Conservation) which enforces environmental correctness throughout the state with a zeal which would not have disgraced Imperial Japan’s secret police the Kempitai.

A few years ago, the fishermen who ran the whale spotting trips for tourists made the mistake of asking the Western Australian government for help regulating the business. (They feared competition). The state government was more than happy to oblige by issuing them with permits, withdrawable at a moment’s notice, and subject to any number of draconian restrictions. One operator nearly lost his licence for failing to display the correct flag signifying “my boat is next to a bloody great whale shark”; another – incredible but true – was given a severe warning for stopping on the way back to let its tourists view a school of whales. His crime? Though he had a whale-shark snorkelling licence he didn’t have a whale-spotting licence and was therefore in breach of regulation.

For anyone in Western Australia trying to make a living outside the cities be it mining, tourism, the wine trade, fishing or farming, DEC is more vexatious a pestilence than a swarm of sand flies. What’s more, local taxpayers must stump up an annual A$ 300,000 for the privilege of having their economy spavined, their businesses hamstrung and their liberties shackled by DEC’s army of sanctimonious brown shirts.

And while I’ve seen and heard for myself how bad Western Australia is, I gather that the further east you go the worse it gets. No wonder the Queenslanders couldn’t wait to get shot of the Greenies terrorising their beautiful state. Let’s hope for Australia’s sake the electoral carnage continues into 2013 when the Aussies have the chance to tell Julia Gillard exactly where she can stick her Carbon Tax.

What I realise, though, now that I’m here is that the Carbon Tax is just a fraction of the problem. There is, for example, the equally stupid Mining Tax which is punishing one of the most productive sectors of the Australian economy, killing jobs and driving business abroad. And then there all the Eco Fascists in local government poisoning the wells with their sustainability programmes and their pursuit of the UN’s sinister Agenda 21.

Today I bid a very fond farewell to Perth. Tomorrow I’ll be in Adelaide, at a lunchtime event hosted by the IPA and launched by my old mate – and one of Australia’s soundest politicians – Cory Bernardi. My book – did I mention this? – is called Killing The Earth To Save It: How Environmentalists are ruining the planet, destroying the economy and stealing your jobs.

Every copy you buy grants you the power to inflict on Christine Milne the nightmare of your choice:

a) baby polar bears tumbling off melting ice floes and drowning

b) happy Australians with real jobs earning a living

c) a dozen new mines opening in the Pilbara

d) every wind farm in Tasmania being taken down and replaced by a solitary nuclear power station

e) slow motion replay of the Queensland election result, with Greg Withers – head of the state’s Office of Climate Change – being told by incoming premier Campbell Newman that from henceforward his job is to undo all the state’s insane environmental legislation.

f) a chorus including Ian Plimer, Bob Carter, David Archibald, Joanne Nova, Andrew Bolt, Tim Blair, Bill Kininmonth and James Delingpole singing “Tomorrow Belongs To Me”

So remember Aussies,  buy early, buy often: the future of your great nation depends on it!

Killing Ugandans to Save the Planet

Carbon credit cruelty

Ugandan farmers have been apparently forced off their land as part of a "clean air" programme

Ugandan farmers have been apparently forced off their land as part of a “clean air” programme

I’ve been urged by many readers to report on this disgraceful story: (H/T Tom Nelson and others)

KICUCULA, Uganda — According to the company’s proposal to join a United Nations clean-air program, the settlers living in this area left in a “peaceful” and “voluntary” manner.

People here remember it quite differently.

“I heard people being beaten, so I ran outside,” said Emmanuel Cyicyima, 33. “The houses were being burnt down.”

Other villagers described gun-toting soldiers and an 8-year-old child burning to death when his home was set ablaze by security officers.

But in this case, the government and the company said the settlers were illegal and evicted for a good cause: to protect the environment and help fight global warming.

The case twists around an emerging multibillion-dollar market trading carbon-credits under the Kyoto Protocol, which contains mechanisms for outsourcing environmental protection to developing nations.

The company involved, New Forests Company, grows forests in African countries with the purpose of selling credits from the carbon-dioxide its trees soak up to polluters abroad. Its investors include the World Bank, through its private investment arm, and the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, HSBC.

In 2005, the Ugandan government granted New Forests a 50-year license to grow pine and eucalyptus forests in three districts, and the company has applied to the United Nations to trade under the mechanism. The company expects that it could earn up to $1.8 million a year.

Disgraceful indeed. But though credit is due to Oxfam for exposing the scandal, can anyone detect a whiff of hypocrisy here?

After all, few NGOs are more assiduous than Oxfam in talking up the threat of “Global warming”:

Global warming can be tackled, and disaster avoided, if world leaders act together, and act soon.

Oxfam believes all nations have a part to play – including the poorest, where people may have to find new ways to farm and make a living.

And the richest – particularly the US and members of the EU –  should reduce greenhouse gas emissions – immediately. They should also help poor countries cope with the likely impact of global climate change.

There’s no time to lose.

And presumably, the kind of concerted action Oxfam is urging world leaders to adopt includes measures like the carbon credit scheme yielding such fat rewards for those caring, nurturing environmental types at businesses like New Forests Company.

Let’s just have a look at New Forests Company’s list of directors, shall we, so we can get to know these delightful people better:

Chairman is Robert Devereux, ex-business partner and brother-in-law of another leading environmental campaigner, Richard Branson.

Director Jonathan R Aisbitt is ex-Goldman Sachs.

Executive director and CEO Julian Ozanne is the ex-husband of the X-Files’s Gillian Anderson who starred in the infamous No Pressure video.

I’m sure that every one of these kind, caring people is properly appalled that Ugandan children are being burned alive in order to facilitate their company’s carbon credit trading operation.

Then again, this wouldn’t be the first time that Third World natives have become accidental casualties of the holy mission to save Mother Gaia, would it?

Richard Curtis’s snuff movie: A joke? A canny marketing strategy? I don’t think so.

Curtis’s Green Disaster

Richard Curtis’s eco-fascist snuff movie was a disaster for the green movement, I think we can all agree.

Well, not quite all of us to judge by one or two bizarre comments and newspaper responses I’ve seen today. Let’s just dispense with a few of them.

1. It was an internet “hit.”
Yes, it surely was. In much the same way that the Jonathan Ross/Russell Brand ‘Sachsgate’ tapes were a hit or the Paris Hilton sex tapes were a hit or Britney Spears shaving all her hair off was a hit. Not all publicity is good publicity. Duh.

2. It was all part of Richard Curtis’s “cunning plan”.
Yeah right. Because, of course – see above – the 10:10 campaign really wanted everybody screaming, even green commenters on the Guardian’s pages, about what a despicably misguided exercise it was to show people who don’t being believe in Man Made Global Warming being blown to smithereens like Islamist suicide bomb victims. Yes, that’s just the way to win over the undecided to your cause: threats, bullying and emotional blackmail.

3. Richard Curtis is a secret “denier” and devised the project as satire.
I think the psychological term for this is “projection.” Curtis has scripted many good films over the years – well, one, anyway – plus of course he co-wrote Blackadder. Ergo, in some people’s minds, a guy who can be so funny could never actually have been responsible for such car-crash propaganda without meaning it to be car-crash propaganda. Well, I’m sorry Curtis fans, but this doesn’t wash. As exhibit a) I present The Girl In The Cafe – whose liberal, anti-capitalist, anti-globalist sentiments were painfully of a piece with the kind of Weltanschauung exhibited in No Pressure and as b) I offer 4. below.

4. This was an unfortunate accident. It isn’t representative of the green movement.
Er, actually, tragically, this is exactly how the green movement thinks. I refer you to my piece James Lee is Al Gore is Prince Charles is the Unabomber.

  1. keith says:2nd October 2010 at 2:02 pmWhat is being missed here is the fact that the global warming crowd are going straight to what the right wing does to sell its anti-global warming, war loving message but in this case it visualises and simplifies it. And the fact is that all of this Green Propaganda is just that. They don’t gone on to mobilise armed forces or actually enforce this fiction upon anyone. It is a joke done to the extreme. The amount of propaganda driven by politicians and the media to get enough western countries to align behind a War based on a pack of lies was immense….remember Iraq. And if the press had shown the innocent Iraqis being blown to pieces by the “shock and awe “campaign we may have had a little more outrage as it was REAL….not a video.
  2. Scott says:3rd October 2010 at 1:52 amWell said James. What is particularly fascinating is the lengths some will go to to rationalise the piece. In essence, they did it so it’s ok for us to do it, only we do it in a clever and witty way. Only stupid people would get upset at this sort of thing because only smart people get it (obviously because we get it).

If history has anything to teach us it is this, mass violence and oppression grows from small seeds like this.

  3. Thomas Paine says:5th October 2010 at 1:37 amWhen I first saw this insane, homicidal, eco – fascist bit , my first instinct was number 3. It is so spectacularily over the top, in such horribly sickening taste that this guy must want to make Eco – Fascists look bad. As I looked more into him, I came to realize how desperate they are to impose their Malthusian Enviro – genocide on the earth. They are so angry that their man made global warming hoax is being exposed for the great fraud that it is, that they are showing their true fascist face – exploding children ?… That’s supposed to be hip, funny and post modern ?… It is a straight – through – the – looking glass view of their twisted , sick mindset. And if people call them on it , as we have, they’ll say it’s just a bit of hipster humour.Does any one remember Pol Pot ?….. All means were justified to bring in an agricultural workers paradise. The ends justify the means, according to this genocidal mindset. 3 million tortured , or murdered after Pol Pot’s Year Zero. Some paradise, huh ?….

These people are the ideological heirs of Pol Pot, in this case replace ” agricultural workers paradise “, with an ” aristocratic environmental paradise”. How many carbon remittances will you well meaning enviro – suckers buy, so Al Gore can buy another ocean front mansion in Malibu, California ?…. By the way Al ( Charlamegne ) Gore buys carbon credits from his own company. He is not offsetting the carbon foot print of his 20 bedroom mansions, he is buying stock in the latest and greatest pump and pump stock scam. Al Gore is the Bernie Madoff of the eco – fascist movement.

Aristocrats, fascists, communists, dictators of all stripes always come up with another reason why the bothersome”Great Unwashed” need to die in mass. This sickening trend has shown it’s ugly face once again. Once you are starving to death in a cave with no electricity, the global warming aristocracy will be flying to another conference on why you should starve, in private jets, commuting to their 5 star Hotels .

Do this math: 140 private jets, and 200 Limousines driven in from all over Europe for the Copenhagen Environmental Summit. 3 or 4 hybrid vehicle rentals for the whole city, during the summit. Do as they say, not as they do. Go live in cave, live on gruel, freeze in the dark slaves !!!….. And if you go live in this Eco fascist approved fashion, think of your hypocrital masters laying on their beds getting free blowjobs from environmentally friendly hookers. ( That last part was no exaggeration, look it up !!!.. ). Environmental hypocrits get free blow jobs in Copenhagen !!!…

Man made global warming is one of the biggest hoaxes and pump and dumps scams the world has ever seen. It is in their absolute desperation, that they are resorting to ads portraying 10 year olds being blown up as being a menacing , but hip – funny at the same time.

” The greatest way to defeat a dictator, is to make him (or her), is to make them act like one”. In this case we are seeing them show their true homicidal, genocidal face.

ps: Hey, psst – Third World, China, India, don’t develop your natural resources !!, don’t industrialize !!, don’t develop new technologies to drag your people out of poverty!!, Al Gore needs another 20 bedroom mansion. Climate change bureaucrats need free blow jobs, after a grueling flights on their private jets, and harsh commutes in Mercedes limousines.

pps: To the Greenpeace brainwashed yob threatening the adults for not going along with this eco – fascism bullshit: don’t come around my house spouting that crap. It’s disgusting that Greenpeace would get some stupid kid to threaten people, in their sick propaganda advert. Here’s a quote for all you brainwashed yobs, ” Humans are a virus, and we are the cure” – The Matrix, 1999. This is the philosophy of this human hating – pose of environmentalism.

  4. Adam Horler says:5th October 2010 at 9:04 amLook, the issue should not be trivialised by either side – we are running out of resources, depleting biodiversity and making the planet a far worse one for future generations based on the fact that they will inherit a far less bio-diverse, natural wonder than we inherited. For the first time it looks like we are handing over a worse future for our kids and grandkids than we got from our parents…

Let’s not politicise this, as we do with everything, and face facts – we need to work out how to clothe, feed and house 9 billion people without turning the planet into a dull wasteland in the process.

As far as the video was concerned – it draws attention to the subject – there is no such thing as bad publicity IF it brings the debate back to the real issue – overuse of natural resources.

My chief concern is it won’t though – the BP disaster didn’t stimulate a lasting debate in the US, after all.

  5. Philippe says:5th October 2010 at 5:33 pmWhat a load of BS !
If something is and must be politised then it is this eco fascist insanity .WE , that means the developped world will be 5 % of the 9 billions in 2050 and I know very well how I and my family will clothe (buy on a market) and feed (cultivate fields) and house (construct a building) .
It doesn’t take a genius to do like our ancestors did for thousands of years , thank you very much .
And I can tell you that as WE are and will stay the biggest food exporters and have enough of concrete , wood and energy , WE have no special worries for the next thousands of years .

In the case that you referred to the OTHER 95 % of the 9 billions , then may I suggest that you spare your patronizing ideas about what they should or should not do ?
However as something is tellig me that you don’t belong to the mentally sane people , there is a solution for the 95 % .
What about stopping them to add 3 billions to the world’s population ?
There are surely some creative ideas how to do that .
Go to China , of course with a bicycle (think of your CO2 footprint) and explain them the wrong of their ways .
    No pressure ….

  6. Stapleson says:12th October 2010 at 6:33 amThis video seems like it was made either by eco-extremists or as a subversive ploy by global warming deniers. Either way, it was done in extremely poor taste. The entire commercial makes people trying to fight global warming seem like cultish extremists no different than religious/fascist/communist/nationalist inquisitors warned against in everything from history books to Orwell’s 1984 to Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery. The morbid desensitized nature of the red button people in the commercial portrays the worst side of humanity which time, and time again has made itself evident whenever a self-righteous ingroup/outgroup styled violent extremist ideology has been allowed to flourish in a community of people. If ever there was something to be spotted as the pure essence of evil, it would be that -ideological violent extremism of any sort-Isolated eco-extremist crazies like James Lee are no different from anti-tax, anti-government crazies like Glen Beck admirerer kill-the-progressives Byron Williams, Mr. anti-IRS Suicide Plane Crasher Joseph Stack, or Mr. Anti-Fed Oklahoma City Bomber Timothy McVeigh. All such people thought violence for their ideology was a good thing.
