Michael Bloomberg Joins Leonardo DiCaprio and Angry Birds’ ‘Red’ as UN Climate Envoy

Michael Bloomberg has joined Leonardo DiCaprio and the Angry Birds’ ‘Red’ as a United Nations climate envoy.

Which of these characters, you wonder, is the most absurd choice to symbolize the global war on climate change?

At first glance, perhaps, it ought to be ‘Red’. ‘Red’, after all, is nothing but a cartoon character from a popular video game and has never, either in his gaming or his spin-off movie career, shown the slightest interest in anthropogenic global warming theory, carbon emissions or sustainability. That’s because his only real interest is in saving eggs from pigs.

Then again, being a fictional character who doesn’t exist in real life, you could argue that Red is the perfect metaphor for climate change – which shares every one of these characteristics.

The Great Global Warming Scam Began with the Nazis…

Nazis
Hulton Archive/Getty

If you really want to understand the great global warming scam you must listen to my podcast this week with Rupert Darwall.

In his new book Green Tyranny, Darwall tells a story so extraordinary and implausible that it’s no wonder most of the mainstream media has been too scared to touch it.

The bottom line: it all started with the Nazis.

Yes, I know. It sounds so click-baity, doesn’t it?

That’ll be why even those journals and writers that have reviewed the book favorably have tended to steer clear of the key chapter in Darwall’s book. The one mischievously titled ‘Europe’s First Greens’.

Europe’s First Greens were, of course, the Nazis.

The documentary evidence provided by Darwall is irrefutable, for this is a considered, well-researched and scholarly work not a potboiler.

What Darwall demonstrates is that the ideology driving the current climate scare originated in Hitler’s Germany.

Angela Merkel’s Energiewende, the brainwashing of your kids in school with green propaganda, the Climate Industrial Complex, the black outs in South Australia, Solyndra, Obama promising that electricity prices would “necessarily skyrocket”, the bat-chomping bird-slicing eco-crucifixes destroying a skyline near you, the real reason Trump just had to pull the U.S. out of the Paris climate accord – it’s all basically the fault of the Nazis.

Harrison Ford, Starring Now in ‘Indiana Jones and The Temple of Eco Fascism’

Ford
LucasFilm

America’s biggest problem right now is that “We’ve got people in charge of important shit who don’t believe in science.”

Well, at least it is if you believe that world-renowned expert Harrison Ford.

Ford was speaking at an environmental awards ceremony in Culver City, California, where he was fêted for his work as executive vice chair of Conservation International.

According to Hollywood Reporter:

“We face an unprecedented moment in this country. Today’s greatest threat is not climate change, not pollution, not flood or fire,” Ford said during his acceptance speech of the Founders’ Award. “It’s that we’ve got people in charge of important shit who don’t believe in science.”

He went on to criticize those politicians who let “political or economic self-interest denigrate or belittle sound scientific understanding of the causes and effects of human pressure on the environment.”

Yeah, right. The problem with this speech is that every word is tosh, including all the “ands” and “buts.”

It would have been accurate during the Obama era when the administration was indeed chock full of activists – John Holdren; EPA administrators Lisa Jackson and Gina McCarthy; NASA GISS’s James Hansen – who believed science should very much take second place to progressive politics.

But thanks to Donald Trump, those days are over.

Ford’s speech got even more stupid later.

Green Survey: Delingpole at the Epicentre of Denialist Evil

In the former category, it’s no surprise that tragic bear-rape victim and private-jet-setting eco-crusader Leo DiCaprio comes top of the list.

Table of Top Overall influencers for week ending 06 March 2016 (Right Relevance)

Table of Top Overall influencers for week ending 06 March 2016 (Right Relevance)

And in the latter?

It gives me no small pleasure to tell you that I, James Delingpole, am depicted sitting dangerously close to the very epicentre of the global nexus of pure denialist evil.

The Greens Are Losing the Culture Wars. Good.

All right, so Michael Crichton got there first with State of Fear (2005) but that movie would certainly never have slipped under the net if it hadn’t had the creator of Jurassic Park‘s name attached. It’s only in the last couple of years that screenwriters have started to recognise what a good idea it is to choose environmentalists as your bad guys: pure evil draped in cuddly, fluffy sanctimoniousness is drama gold.

See, for example, Kingsman (2014) which cast Samuel L Jackson as an insane Malthusian bent on wiping out most of the human race for the good of the planet; and also Utopia (2013), the genius, black as your hat thriller (insanely nixed after its second series by Channel 4) about a similar “the Earth has a cancer; the cancer is man” type conspiracy.

Now there’s a Nordic Noir TV series I strongly recommend you watch – just out on DVD – called Follow the Money. The Guardian hated it – which is a recommendation in itself. But what’s even better is the reason why I suspect the Guardian hated it: it couldn’t quite get its head around the fact that the bad guys aren’t in Big Oil or the Military Industrial Complex or some faceless corporation. Instead, the baddies work for a renewable energy company with the caring, sharing name Energreen.

Leo DiCaprio Wages War on Western Civilisation

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has declared war on Western industrial civilisation

by funding and narrating a series of short eco-documentaries urging us all to leave fossil fuels in the ground, cripple our economies with carbon taxes and embrace bird-frying, bat-chomping renewable technologies such as solar and wind.

The first film in the series on Carbon – co-written by liberal activist cum talk radio host Thom Hartmann – is riddled with basic errors, extremely dubious propaganda claims, and flagrant politicking on behalf of the more left-wing elements in the Obama administration. But DiCaprio may well have been unable to afford a fact-checker, owing to the fact that he was paid just $10 million for his last movie The Wolf of Wall Street – a catastrophic drop in the income he received for earlier movies, like Inception, for which he received nearly $60 million.

Here are some of the simple mistakes DiCaprio would have spotted, if only he had been able to scrape together the money for an entry-level production team.

“Ancient life on earth. Over millions of years plants and animals lived and died; that decomposed life sunk deep into the ground and as a result an ancient menace was created: fossil fuels.”

Er, about that phrase “ancient menace”, Leo. You’re talking about the intense stored energy that made the Industrial Revolution possible; that freed people from the backbreaking toil of agrarianism and enabled the division of labour and technological advances that led, inter alia, to the invention of cinema and the birth of your career. Without fossil fuels your sorry ass would be nothing, DiCaprio – and all your cutesy pop fans would still be slaving as dairy maids and gleaners, their faces ravaged by cowpox. So a little more respect and perspective, please.

“97 per cent of climate scientists agree that climate change is happening and caused by human activity.”

No they don’t. Which dork fed you that line? Joe Romm? Thom Hartmann? Whoever it was, get your lawyers on the case and sue the arse off him for having made you look such an ignorant pillock. Here is why the 97 per cent  figure is not to be taken seriously.

“They drill, they extract making trillions of dollars.”

You talk about making large sums of money like it’s a bad thing, Leo. Can we assume from this that in future, you’ll be doing all your movies for the minimum wage to show your solidarity with the world’s poor, exploited and oppressed? Oh, and by the way, that graphic your people slipped in at this point showing “chemical waste” leaking into the water table as a result of fracking: this is just an urban myth promulgated by people like the Russians and the Middle Eastern oil despots to deny the US energy security.
