Trump Vindicated; Now Even the UN Confirms That the Paris Climate Accord Was a Complete Waste of Space

The United Nations has officially confirmed what many of us, including President Trump, knew already: the Paris climate accord was a complete waste of space.

As UN Environment admits in its latest Emissions Shortfall report, even when you add up all the CO2 reduction pledges made by all the signatory nations at Paris, it still comes to only a third of what is supposedly necessary to stop the world warming by more than 2 degrees C by the end of this century.

According to UN Environment’s head Eric Solheim, the world is heading for disaster:

“One year after the Paris Agreement entered into force, we still find ourselves in a situation where we are not doing nearly enough to save hundreds of millions of people from a miserable future. Governments, the private sector and civil society must bridge this catastrophic climate gap.”

Another way of looking at it, though, is that President Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris accord is now fully vindicated. Had the Agreement been ratified, the U.S. would have handed countries like China and India a huge competitive advantage over the American economy. But – as even the UN now admits – it would have made no discernible difference to the alleged problem of “global warming.” So what, exactly would have been the point?

Solving the Mystery of How Donald Trump Got to be So Amazing on Climate Change…

AP/Charlie Neibergall
On my Delingpole podcast this week we solve one of the great political mysteries of our time: how did President Donald Trump get to be so totally darned amazing on the environment, energy and ‘climate change’?

My guest Chris Horner of the Competitive Enterprise Institute is pretty sure he has the answer.

(Few people know more about the climate scam than Horner. He witnessed the green blob’s slimy machinations at first hand during his brief tenure as a lawyer at Enron where he was shocked to see activists from green pressure groups like the Union of Concerned Scientists round a table with oil industry representatives from BP etc, all conspiring on the Baptists and Bootleggers principle to perpetuate and exploit the great Global Warming Swindle. This was in the days of the Clinton/Gore White House: the Green Blob has been feeding on the US taxpayer for a very long time.)

So Horner – who sat on the Trump EPA transition team – has the perfect insider perspective to explain what’s going on in the White House.

Horner understands the magnitude of Trump’s achievement so far. Even Trump announcing his plan to pull out of the UN Paris climate agreement required immense determination and moral courage. After all his decision wasn’t only  resisted by the usual Democrat suspects and green lobbyists: it also came up against stiff opposition from key members of the Administration, among them, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Economics Advisor Gary Cohn.

In fact, argues Horner, probably nowhere in DC is the swamp more heavily defended by the liberal politico-media establishment than the EPA and the climate change industry.

Trump Is Definitely Going to Pull the U.S. out of the UN Paris Climate Agreement

Chip Somodevilla/Getty

President Trump is definitely going to pull the U.S. out of the Paris climate agreement, the head of his Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) transition team has confirmed.

At a press conference in London – the one where the media delegates’ heads all exploded – Myron Ebell told his appalled audience that Trump would certainly be honouring his campaign promise to pull out of the UN Paris agreement. The fact that incoming Secretary of State Rex Tillerson disagrees with this is, Ebell suggested, an irrelevance.

An apparent contradiction emerged in recent weeks between Trump’s position and that of his incoming secretary of state Rex Tillerson, who said the US will “remain part” of UN climate discussions. When asked about these contrasting positions, Ebell said it is impossible for him to predict the outcome, but “in a disagreement with the president, who do you think will win?”
